Northwestern Lehigh retirees honored by school board

Northwestern Lehigh School District retirees were honored in a resolution signed by all board members for their contributions to the district.

High school Nurse Susan Christ, RN, has 28 years at the district.

She was honored for caring for the needs of every student by promoting health and supporting the staff.

Language Arts Department Chair Anna Gilgoff served for 28 years.

She was honored for going above and beyond in meeting the academic needs of her students.

Gilgoff told the board every minute was worth it.

District Technology Coach Kathy Fiedler was honored for helping every student reach his or her full potential with her insight and expertise.

Middle school Instructural Assistant Deborah Wirth, who taught for 27 years, developed a relationship with students and provided a positive learning environment.

Middle school social studies teacher Edward Roman, with 34 years of service to the district, instilled a love of history in his students.

Roman, who saw potential and encouraged students to do their best, was a leader among the middle school faculty.

Reading Intervention teacher Susan Pensyl, with 37 years in the district, treated students like family.

She used creative activities to teach her students.

Northwestern Elementary first grade teacher Dianne Ralston, who was with the district 13 years, was an advocate for students.

She modeled lifelong learning and worked with her colleagues.

Superintendent Mary Anne Wright said it was a phenomenal experience to work with such professionals.
