Soon-to-be-graduating seniors of Parkland High School Class of 2014 enjoyed a night of post-prom activites at the high school after a Roaring 20s themed evening of dancing May 10 at The Palace Center, Allentown.
The post prom included food, a coffee house, live music, magic, temporary tattoo and caricature artists, massage therapists, large inflatable and carnival games, a photo booth, hypnotist show and lots of prizes.
Some of the prizes included gift cards, cash, an iPod; Beats ear buds; Bose sport headphones; Coach wallets and purses; flat screen television; Sony PS4; Asus Transformer Book; JBL Wireless sound system by Harman; GoPro Hero3 Action Camera; Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1; MacBook Air; iPad Air; and Bed Bath & Beyond gift card for dorm supplies.
Parkland Senior Tabitha Schade was the winner of the grand prize this year, a 2003 Nissan Altima with automatic transmission, CD player and sunroof, donated by Faulkner Chevrolet, Cadillac, Subaru, Bethlehem.
Parkland High School Assistant Principal Tony Naradko and Chaun Yount commented on the event.
Naradko said they normally have between 800 to 1,000 students attending ost prom.
"The post prom started around 2000 or 2001 as a safe alternative to after-prom activites," Yount said.
