Raphael Ettinger-Finley, a Springhouse Middle School Student, performed April 19 in the Student Honors Recital in the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, New York City.
Raphael played "Hungarian Dance No. 5" by Johannes Brahms.
The event was sponsored by the Northeast PA Chapter of the PA Music Teachers Association.
Ettinger-Finley, 11, has studied violin with teacher Mary Ann Saylor for seven years.
At Springhouse, where he is a sixth grade student, he is a member of the Honors and Sixth Grade orchestras.
For the past five summers, Raphael has studied at the Ithaca College Suzuki Institute.
He has also participated in the Allentown Symphony Young Musicians String Festival.
In addition to his classical training, Raphael also enjoys fiddling.
He has twice (2012 and 2013) won third place in the 12-and-under division at the Lyons Fiddle Fest.
In 2013, he won second place in the 13-and-under division of the Celtic Classic Youth Fiddle Contest.
