Fire reported

A grease fire April 11 in the unit block of Magna Drive brought police and the Whitehall Fire Department to the scene.

The fire caused moderate damage to a microwave oven and cabinet above the stove.

Dumpster fire reported

Police responded to a Dumpster fire April 11 in the rear of Highlander Laundromat, Chestnut Street.

Officers said the materials in the Dumpster were smoldering.

Man makes threats with gun

Coplay Police April 10 assisted the North Catasauqua Police in response to a man on his back porch holding a gun and making threats.

Police were able to persuade the man to put the gun down without incident.

Disturbance reported

A report of a disturbance April 10 brought police to the 100 block of Oak Street where a father was arguing with his son.

Grass fire reported

Police responded to a grass fire in the 100 block of North Sixth Street April 10.

Police said on arrival the homeowner was using a controlled fire to eliminate weeds at the rear of his property.

The fire was out when police and firefighters arrived at the scene.

911 hang-up

Police responded to a 911 hang-up call April 9 at Giant Food, Cherry and Chestnut streets.

The call was made at a pay phone.

Police were unable to locate the person who made the call.
