Elmer P. Wagner, structural iron worker

Elmer P. Wagner, 94, of Bethlehem Township, died March 6, 2014, in his home. Born in Seidersville, he was a son of the late Ward Titus and Mamie Elizabeth (Rinker) Wagner. He was the husband of Jean (Ruth) Wagner for 65.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned a Purple Heart.

He was a structural iron worker for Local #36 Ironworkers of Bethlehem for many years before retiring in 1982.

He was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, Coopersburg.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Bradford D. and his wife Monica of Hellertown, David E. and his wife Tracy of Canadaigua, N.Y. and Ward A. and his wife Maureen of Bethlehem; two daughters, Pamela L. Strauss of Orefield and Hope Ring of Emmaus; twelve grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Gregory; a son-in-law, Lin Strauss; a brother, Stanley; two sisters, Erma Koch and Evelyn Filo; and two grandsons, Dennis Schlener Jr. and Corey Reiman.
