Upper Macungie Township Police and the Drug Abuse Resistence Education program are offering a free senior self-defense workshop from 12:30-2 p.m. March 19 at Leading Edge Martial Arts, 3239 Hamilton Blvd., Allentown. Sign-in begins 12:15 p.m.

In this one-and-a-half hour class, participants will receive tips on how to avoid being a target and potential victim; deal with a situation once it has presented itself; use striking techniques; use hands-on, self-defense moves when grabbed by an attacker.

They also will have the opportunity to practice these skills on volunteers from Leading Edge Martial Arts.
