Property owners in Whitehall Township have approached the township seeking to find out the amount of money they owe the township in order to satisfy municipal liens filed against their properties. Many of the liens involve unpaid garbage collection bills that have been delinquent, in some cases, for years.
"The township received numerous requests for payoffs for municipal liens," Mayor Edward D. Hozza Jr. reported to the Whitehall Board of Commissioners at a Feb. 10 board meeting. "Many for unpaid garbage bills. Several were satisfied, with many tied to future sheriff sales."
