Oh what a night- Becahi MiniTHON tops $60,000 goal

Energy and excitement filled the Bethlehem Catholic HS gymnasium Friday evening as the school's third annual MiniTHON took center stage. Students, former students, parents and staff were on hand for the event that coincided with Penn State's THON to benefit children with cancer and their families.

Student chair, senior Mackenzie Bento, sees the MiniTHON as a great way for the school community to come together for a great cause.

"It was an unforgettable experience." she said. "Our goal was to raise $60,000 and we raised $63,614. We couldn't have done it without the support of coordinator, Mrs. Bedics and the entire student body, especially the seniors who led our committees. We are thankful and we appreciate everyone who supported this great cause and made the night a success."

The biggest challenge this year were the days lost to snow in the days leading up to the event. Despite that the students managed to reach their goal.

The money will be sent to the Four Diamonds Fund at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. From there the funds will go to pediatric cancer research with a percentage going directly to patients providing emotional and financial support.
