Camp Whitehall and pool rates go up
Whitehall Township's Board of Commissioners approved fees that will increase the cost of Camp Whitehall by $10 per week and a $5 increase on pool rates.
The rates were put into place at the administrations Feb. 10 meeting.
Camp Whitehall, held at both Cement Park and Playground and Fullerton Park and Playground, will be open to township children.
Those outside the township will be required to pay a higher fee. The Schadt Avenue camp, which did not operate in 2013, will once again, be consolidated within the two camps.
Camp Whitehall fees approved for residents were approved at $100 per week, $90 for the abbreviated session, June 30-July 3, and $790 for the season pass.
The fee for nonresidents is $130 a week, $120 for the shortened June 30- July 3 session and $1,030 for a season pass.
Mayor Edward D. Hozza Jr., said the camp fees reflect a $10-per-week increase.
The township will continue with the operation of three municipal pools, Cementon, Parkview in Hokendauqua and Jefferson in Fullerton.
Noting a $5 increase in pool rates, Hozza informed the commissioners the township pool rates continue to be lower than most municipal pools in the area.
Pool rates for 2014 are $115 for an all-season family pass, $50 for an all-season adult resident pass and $40 for an all-season resident student pass. The daily admission is $4 a person, children under 6 and persons over 62 are admitted free. A $4 daily fee for residents 6 to 61 must have a photo ID.
For nonresidents, a season family pass is $250, nonresident adult is $100, nonresident grandchild $40 and nonresident student $80. The admission fee for a nonresident daily pass is $10.
The nonresident family pass has a limit of two adults and two children. The nonresident student pass is available to students up to and including 2014 high school graduates.
