Robert George Frey, 89, of Bethlehem, died Jan. 22, 2014, in St. Luke's Hospital. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late William and Helen (Borman) Frey. He was the husband of Geraldine (Kipp) Frey for 66 years.
He was a graduate of Fountain Hill High School and Rider College.
He was in the European Operations during World War II including Omaha Beach, Normandy, and the Battle of the Bulge until VE-Day under the command of Major Fred Valentino. He was awarded the bronze star and five campaign ribbons.
He was an accountant for Harvey Kipp Meats for many years.
He belonged to the Masonic Lodge. He was in the National Ski Patrol.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Linda and her husband Richard Owen of North Port, Fla.; a son, Harvey Kipp Frey of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a brother, Gordon of Bethlehem; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was predeceased by a brother, George.
