There will be a full day of school Feb. 13. There will be a half-day of school with noon dismissal for all elementary students Feb. 14. There will be no afternoon kindergarten.

The elementary schools will celebrate Valentines Day during the morning session Feb. 14.

Kindergarten registration for children in the Northwestern Lehigh School District, who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, will take place at Weisenberg Elementary April 9, 10 and 11.

Call 610-298-8661, ext. 5105 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. March 11-14 to schedule an appointment for registration.

Bring original state birth certificate (with an official raised seal), two proofs of residency, proof of immunization and the child to the kindergarten regristraton.

Northwestern Lehigh Educational Foundation will be having a flapjack fundraiser 8-10 a.m. Feb. 8 at Applebee's, 1500 N. Cedar Crest Blvd., South Whitehall.

Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, and choice of beverage.

Northwestern Elementary

There is a Partners In Education meeting scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 7 in the cafeteria.

The Valentine's Dance will be from 6-9 p.m. Feb. 7.

The admission fee includes a free face paint and color hair spray.

All children must be accompanied by an adult, so bring the whole family. There be food, Chinese auction, and dancing.

The Northwestern Elementary Music department is accepting donations of band instruments.

Due to the economic conditions over the last few years, many parents and families at NWE have found it difficult to rent or buy instruments for their children to play in the band.

If you have an old instrument collecting dust in your attic, basement, or a closet, consider donating it to Northwestern Elementary.
