Edward L. Buckvitz Jr., 66, of Bethlehem, died Jan. 27, 2014. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Edward L. Sr. and Frances R. (O'Connell) Buckvitz.
He was a teacher in the Easton Area School District for 35 years before retiring in 2004.
He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Allentown and former Bethlehem church, where he was a Reading Room volunteer.
He was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge #1106, and of the former Lodge #191, Bethlehem. He was a member of the men's choir of the Bangor lodge. He was a member of the Eastern Region Pennsylvania State Education Association- Retired. He was a member and officer of many other organizations.
He is survived by a brother, Douglas and his wife Angela of Lower Saucon Township; a niece, Trisha and her husband Gary Trittenbach of Bethlehem; and a great nephew, Gary Trittenbach III.
Services were private.
Arrangements were made by James Funeral Home Inc., Bethlehem.
