Maria Sacarakis, 90, formerly of Bethlehem, died Jan. 17, 2014, at Whitehall Manor, Allentown. Born in Tegernsee, Germany, she was a daughter of Lorenz and Philomena Holzer. She was the wife of the late Steve Sacarakis for 62 years.

She worked for Surefit, the Moravian Bookshop and Muhlenberg Hospital. She worked alongside her husband in their Bethlehem restaurant, Sack's Corner.

She was a member of Church of the Manger, Bethlehem, where she sang in the choir.

She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie and her husband Robert Kammetler Jr. of Bethlehem Township and June and her husband Dave Singer of Orefield; a son, George and his wife Marcy of Cary, N.C.; five grandchildren, Tina Kesack, Natalie Sacarakis, Nicole and her husband Paul McKay, Keith Sacarakis and Brenden Kammetler; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Wyle; and a sister, Johanna Oswald of New Jersey.

She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.
