There is a fundraiser planned for Parkland High School football player Josh Kates, who was hit by a car in December 2013.
A charity walk will take place noon Feb. 16 at the Bob Rodale Cycling and Fitness Park, Breinigsville.
The cost is $20 with all proceeds going toward Josh's medical and rehabilitation costs.
Information is on Facebook at Josh Kates Charity Walk or by emailing Monet Tiberii at monet28@rcn.com.
Another fundraiser took place Jan. 29, when high school faculty and staff took part in a chili contest in the high school auditorium.
Staff stopped by the auditorium lobby for a warm bowl of chili and voted for their favorites at $5 per person.
Each lunch had a winner declared.
One contestant out of 23 was named the "Chili Champ" after the final taste test at 1:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
All proceeds will be donated to Josh, who is undergoing rehabilitation treatment.
The second fundraiser, also on Jan. 29, was open to the public.
On The Border Mexican restaurant, Airport Square Shopping Center, had a "Give Back to Josh Kates" fundraiser during lunch and dinner.
The restaurant is donating 10 percent of all purchases to Josh for his medical and rehabilitation costs.
