Many families begin Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 2, with an all-you-can-eat breakfast at the Coplay Saengerbund, Fifth Street and Schreiber Ave.

The Coplay Lions Club officers and members will be in the kitchen cooking up food, which includes everything from eggs, pancakes, potatoes and meat. It's the biggest fundraiser the Lions hold annually.

It's hardly expected you will see someone with a Seattle Seahawks jersey. You will probably see a couple of individuals wearing Denver Broncos gear, while some fans will sport Eagles, Giants and Redskins jerseys.

A youth Super Bowl event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Feb. 2 at St. John's Lutheran Church.

The church youth will be playing games in the church social hall following the services.

Some children have their names and phone numbers listed at the borough hall office, indicating their availability to shovel residential sidewalks when it snows.

The recent snow storms have kept the borough's youth busy. Borough personnel said five to six residents have said they were in need of snow cleared from their sidewalks.

Residents have been removing snow from their sidewalks within 24 hours of a snow storm.

The Coplay Garden Club will hold a membership meeting and demonstration 7 p.m. this evening in the social hall at St. John's Lutheran Church, South Third St.

The club accepts both men and women into its club ranks.

With the high cost of post high school education, such as college, university, trade/technical school or police academy, the Coplay Scholarship Fund Committee is enlisting community support from residents to help defray the costs of attending college and trade school.

Donations can be sent to the CSFC, 19 N. Fifth St.

A reminder; the borough's trash/garbage collection weekly schedule indicates large amounts of material from home remodeling projects will not be disposed of.

According to the sanitation department, such materials should be disposed of by way of a private service or Dumpster.
