A world of difference followed Tim Keller's more than 20 years in Coplay Borough emergency management.

"When I started I was in one room upstairs with a World War II surplus radio and a $50 budget," Keller said at the Jan. 14 Coplay Borough Council meeting. "When I left here we were downstairs with all high tech equipment and a really decent budget."

Council honored Keller with a plaque, thanking him for his 12 years of service as emergency management coordinator.

The plaque presented to Keller by Mayor Joseph Bundra, thanks Keller for his years of service and, most notably, his work in updating and upgrading the emergency management equipment.

"Tim, we really appreciate all the work you've done for us," Bundra said.

Keller thanked council for having him as the borough's EMA coordinator.

He reflected briefly on the changes that took place during his nine years as deputy EMA coordinator and 12 years as coordinator.

"It was time to step down, let somebody else take over the reins and run with the program to give me more time to spend with my family," Keller said. "But I appreciate this guys. I really do from my heart."

After shaking hands with Bundra, Keller shook the hand of each of the seven councilmen.

Keller now works for Whitehall emergency management where he said he is third in command.

Council approved the purchase and presentation of Keller's plaque at its December meeting by a unanimous vote.
