Talk of the town! The Germansville Fire Company is looking for volunteers who are connected to public relations, marketing and finance, as well as persons with new ideas on methods used to acquire much needed funding for the fire company.

In addition to monetary donations, physical support of all kind is being sought in the fire company's kitchens during the filling and shoofly pie fundraisers, at banquets with bartending, serving food, setting up tables and chairs, clean-up, etc.

Help of any amount is needed and greatly appreciated.

At this time, the fire company is having a membership drive. As with your dues, donations toward the fire company itself may be sent to Goodwill Fire Co., P.O. Box 69, Germansville, PA 18053.

It is also worth mentioning the fire company's facilities are available to rent and may be reserved by calling Doris Koenig at 610-767-3778.

According to Doris, the upstairs hall can accommodate up to 350 people and is ideal for weddings and banquets, whereas the downstairs hall is perfect for parties, such as birthday and anniversary and so on.

"When renting the downstairs social hall, you can bring in your own food and make use of the kitchen," Doris says. "Upstairs is different. There, the food is already prepared."
