The lost and found box at both elementary schools is overflowing. Students should check for missing articles of clothing or lunch boxes.

Writing the student's name on his or her possessions is a good way for lost items to be returned.

Northwestern Elementary

Partners In Education will be having a Family Valentine Dance 6-9 p.m. Feb. 7.

There will be food, Chinese auction, face painting, crazy hair, as well as fantastic music. Bring the entire family for a night of fun.

Students have the opportunity to earn reading award certificates by meeting a monthly reading goal of 20 minutes every school night.

The reading award certificates can be redeemed at Pizza Hut where the students will receive a Book-it award and a free, one-topping personal pan pizza.

Weisenberg Elementary

Weisenberg Family Night and Silent Auction will take place 6-9 p.m. Jan. 25. Snow date is Feb. 1. The silent auction is geared toward adults.

Students can participate in the Chinese auction, where bidding is done by ticket and won at random.

Tickets will be available for purchase in advance and during family night.

The PTO needs donations of gift certificates and merchandise from local businesses and families in the district.

Items might be themed baskets filled with art supplies, crafts, ethnic foods, auto care, baking gadgets, pet pampering, safety products for home or auto, school supplies, children/family board games, toys, books, movie night, all kinds of sports items, gifts certificates and services such as babysitting, stenciling or lawn care.

Giant A+ School Rewards is available through March 22 for all the schools in the school district.
