Roger H. Scheirer, 87, of Catasauqua, died Dec. 29, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest Campus, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Joyce (Haines) Scheirer.

Born in North Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Harry and Elsie (Wenner) Scheirer.

He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was an accountant with Ingersoll Rand from which he retired after 30 years.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Catasauqua.

He was a former member of Salem United Church of Christ, Catasauqua, where he was an elder, deacon, Consistory president and a bowler on the church bowling team.

He was a past president of the Catasauqua Area Credit Union, a former Catasauqua Little League coach, and a member of the Catasauqua American Legion Post No. 215.

He is survived by four daughters, Joy and her husband Wayne Muffley, Karen, Nancy and her husband Maurice Whiffen, and Anita and her husband Richard Croesus; two sons, R. Scott and his wife Kim and Neal and his wife Karla; two sisters, Joyce Miller and Carol and her husband Art Mack; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother Gerald and a great-grandson Cameron Andrew Bieling.
