Richard E. Transue, 87, of Bethlehem, died Dec. 31, 2013 at Manor Care Health Center, Bethlehem. Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Janisch) Transue. He was the husband of Anna (Rose) Transue.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corporation for many years.

He was a member of the West Side Republican Club and of the Rosemont Fire Company. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Transue of Bethlehem; and a brother, Robert Transue of Bethlehem.

He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Transue.
