Passengers heading to O'Hare, Philadelphia and Detroit on Dec. 18, 2013, from Lehigh Valley International Airport had the unexpected pleasure of being entertained by 145 members of the Parkland Elementary School Chorale.

"This is an honors choir and we have members from all eight elementary school buildings," said Louise Feher, one of the three directors.

Jill Kemmerer, another director, led the chorale in various popular Christmas tunes.

Lauren Koftovick is the other director.

At the airport concert, Deb Madey played the accompaniment.

"We had a concert scheduled for earlier in the season, but it got snowed out," Feher said. "We have another scheduled for Jan. 16 at Springhouse."

These bundles of young energy, organized in rows, produced good-sounding renditions of classic Yule time songs.

The excitement generated one casualty, as one caroler fainted, but recovered quickly more embarrassed than hurt.
