Tree pickup next three weeks

For some borough residents, removing the Christmas tree from their home is determined by the calendar. In one case, a tree was put out for pickup in the alley on the evening of Dec. 25.

More will be set out for collection before New Year's. Many people, however, keep their tree up until Jan. 11.

Borough crews will be picking up the discarded trees during the next three weeks. Unlike years past when the trees were tossed into a dump, they are now ground up into mulch.
