Even though the holidays may be over, the cold weather is not. It is extremely important to make sure your child comes to school with a winter jacket, gloves and a hat. Recess is outdoors daily unless the wind chill is 15 degrees or below.

PSSA tests are scheduled for this spring. Tests are: grades 3, 4, 5, reading and math, March 17-21; grade 5, writing, March 31-April 4; and grade 4, science, April 28-May 2.

Northwestern Elementary

Parents must park at the high school when picking up children at the end of the day from the elementary school.

The first Partners In Education meeting of the new year will be 6 p.m. Jan. 8 in the cafeteria. They will discuss and plan events for 2014.

Weisenberg Elementary

The PTO's Family Fun Night and Silent Auction will be on Jan. 25.

There will be a PTO meeting 9:15 a.m. Jan. 3 in room 145.
