Carl H. Pietrouchie, baseball hall of famer

Carl H. Pietrouchie, 59, of Bethlehem,died Dec. 26, 2013, at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown. Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Leo and Dorothy (Space) Pietrouchie. He and was the husband of Yvonne M. (Wood) Pietrouchie for 29 years.

He was a 1971 graduate of Freedom High School. He earned an Associate's Degree from Northampton Community College.

He was a dealer at the Sands Casino, Bethlehem, for the past five years. He worked previously for Canteen Services, primarily on the Lehigh University campus.

He was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

He was a member of the Blue Mountain League and the Northampton C.C. Spartan Baseball Halls of Fame. He played basketball in the Bethlehem City League and was a coach for his son's teams.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Harry L. of Bethlehem; a sister, Esther and her husband George Shoemaker of Hellertown; two brothers, Joseph and his wife Nancy Pietrouchie of Coplay and Leo Michael Pietrouchie of Bethlehem; nieces; and nephews.
