John W. Kreiger, 91, of Bethlehem, died Dec.16, 2013, in Cedarbrook- Fountain Hill Annex. Born in Sheppton, he was a son of the late John H. and Hattie (Houser) Kreiger. He was the husband of the late Isabelle "Bettie" (Ahlborn) Kreiger.
He served in the U. S.Army Air Force during World War II.
He graduated from Penn State with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
He worked for Bethlehem Steel as a research engineer for more than 30 years before retiring.
He was a former member of Faith United Church of Christ, Hazleton, and Church of the Manger U.C.C., Bethlehem.
He was a volunteer at Muhlenberg Hospital for many years.
He is survived by two sons, John and his wife Rose Mary of Annapolis, Md. and Lawrence and his wife Donna of Bethlehem; a sister, Carrie Maynard of Long Island, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predecesed by four sisters; and four brothers.
