Carl H. Hoffman

Carl H. Hoffman, 83, of Palmerton, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, died Dec. 1, 2013, at The Summit at Blue Mountain, Lehighton. He was the husband of the late Jean E.F. (Smith) and the late Catherine C. Hoffman.

Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Herman and Minnie (Peters) Hoffman.

He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He worked for the former Stewart Sandwiches, Allentown, for more than 35 years. He was a meal transporter for the Dauphin County Meals on Wheels.

He was a member of the Barber Shop Quartet Singing Society of the Lehigh Valley and of the Keystone Capital Chorus of Greater Harrisburg. He was a member and on the Board of Directors of the Mechanicsburg Senior Citizen's Center.

He is survived by a daughter, Vicki and her husband Scott Semmel; a sister, Hilda Cvamen; a sister-in-law, Marge Smith; a granddaughter, Alexandra Semmel; four stepdaughters; a stepson; nieces; nephews; and step-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Bruce L. Hoffman; and a brother, John Hoffman.
