The Women of Excellence do Christmas

Dear Editor,

It takes a lot of passion and dedication to put on a Merry Christmas for 430 underprivileged children. And they all showed up for the annual Women of Excellence Christmas Party held Dec. 7, 2013, at the Bethlehem Middle School. Dressed in a rainbow of kid's colors they ate hot dogs and pizzas and drank sodas, and then they all filed into the gymnasium to receive the many colorfully wrapped presents.

It's the black soul. It's the Spanish soul. It's the collective soul and the hard work of the Women of Excellence that makes this event happen. The organized Women of Excellence have come together because they believe in faith, and love and in making a positive impact on all those around them. These wonderful women give much back to the community because they are personally involved. They don't just write a check, or drop some coins in a can. No, these gals are hands on. Subsequently, their nurturing of these school children at Christmas time inspires in both boys and girls a feeling of, "It's my little light and I'm gonna make it shine." And they will. And that's what makes the Lehigh Valley such a good place in which to live.

Sincerely,

Alvin T. Bolster
