Staff and students at Northwestern Elementary recently honored this nation's veterans by displaying more than 1,039 stars with the names of veterans and their military branch in the school's rotunda.

Art teacher Tracy Smoyer's students created art projects and classroom teachers discussed the significance and importance of Veterans Day with their students.
