John O. Erdosy, 67, of Lehighton, died Dec. 3, 2013, in his home. He was the husband of Dale S. (Sakers) Erdosy.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Albert and Dorothy (Buckeye) Erdosy.

He was a 1964 graduate of Northampton High School, where "Sparkles" set records in baseball (most stolen bases) and football. He earned a bachelor's degree in physical education at West Chester College.

He was a health and physical education teacher for Northampton Area School District. He was a football, track, tennis and gymnastic coach.

He was a member of Blue Mountain Community Church, Palmerton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Heather of Bethlehem; a son, Michael and his wife Rebecca of Folsom, Calif.; a sister, Carol Marton of Northampton; a brother, Al Erdosy of Allentown; cousins; nieces; and nephews.
