Jeanette J. Bachman

Jeanette J. Bachman, 71, of Northampton, died Nov. 5, 2013, at her home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Lester H. Bachman who died in 2003. They were married for 40 years.

Born in Quakertown, she was the daughter of the late John and Stella (Toczek) Drybola.

She was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School.

She took great pride in working as a chief clerk for the Bethlehem Steel Company at the Homer Research Labs for 39 years until her retirement. She was fondly referred to as "The Chief" by her co-workers.

She had a passion for opera and classical music. Her adventures took her to various places in the U.S. with her husband until his death. She traveled to Bermuda, the Panama Canal and visited Italy twice.

She was a social member of Hogan's in Allentown, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 0576, Columbia Home in Allentown and the Mercantile Club in Emmaus.

She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia A. and her husband Todd E. Krebs of Milton, and their daughter, Leslie Lauren; son, William L. and his wife Linda of Hanover and their children, William, Abigail and Andrew; brother, John Drybola of Milton, Fla.; sister, Bernice of Emmaus; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence.
