Joan J. Patterson, 74, formerly of Northampton, died Nov. 18, 2013, at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem.

Born in Duryea, she was a daughter of the late Lemoine and Hermina (Leshney) Patterson.

She was the secretary to the Whitehall Township chief of police for 42 years.

She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, North Catasauqua.

She is survived by a sister, Irene Romero; two brothers, Stanley Patterson and Robert Patterson, and nephews.
