Hazel Katherine (Steidel) Denzel, of Bethlehem, died Nov.19, 2013, at Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth. Born in New York City, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Koebel) Steidel. She was the wife of Henry Edward Denzel.

She attended schools in New Jersey.

She worked in New York for Great American Insurance Company.

She was a member of Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem. She was a former member of Christ Church U.C.C., Bethlehem, where she was a deaconess.

She was a member of Saucon Valley Country Club and the Auxiliary of St. Luke's Hospital for many years. She was a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital and at Moravian Prep (now Moravian Academy).

She is survived a daughter, H. Christina and her husband Mark Connar, and a son, H. Stephen and his wife Priscilla, all of Bethlehem; four grandchildren, Christina Albeck, Andrew Denzel, H. Stephen Denzel and Sarah Hawk; six great–grandchildren; and one great–grandchild expected.

She was predeceased by a sister, Irene Boss.
