David Wardlaw Moore III, 83, of Macun-gie, died Nov. 19, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice. He was the husband of the late Gertrude (Smith) Moore. Born in Savannah, Ga., he was the son of the late David W. Moore Jr. and Gladys (Shields) and Arthur Byrd.

He was a proud graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He honorably served his country as a Major in the Army for 14 years.

He worked as a purchasing manager for Air Products and Chemicals for over 20 years and retired from Acme Cryogenics in 2002.

He was a member of the West Point Association of Graduates and the Crispin Band of Brothers.

He is survived by his companion, Barbara MacLachlan; sons, David W. IV and his wife Daniela and Kevin and his wife Dannielle; daughters, Cynthia Beers, Darla and her husband Marv Berkowitz, Mary and her husband Dan McCormick; half brother, Reuben Byrd; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by half brother, William Byrd.
