Thomas Gillette

Thomas Gillette, 90, of Kunkletown and formerly of Whitehall, died Nov. 11, 2013, in Palmerton Hospital. He was the husband of Pauline Mae (Burkhardt) Gillette for 65 years.

Born in Whitehall, he was a son of the late Samuel and Anna (Warchola) Gillette.

He was an U.S. Army veteran of both World War II and the Korean War.

He was a repairman for the former Giant Portland Cement Company, Egypt, for 17 years. He then worked for the South Whitehall Public Works Department for 17 years.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Northampton.

He was a life member of the V.FW. Post 7293, Egypt.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Shirley at home; five sons, Bruce at home, Thomas and his wife Joanne of Orefield, Jeffrey and his wife Bernadine of Bangor, Stephen and his wife Judy of Hanover Township and Michael and his wife Connie of Schnecksville; a daughter-in-law, Patricia of Catasauqua; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Brian; and six brothers, John, Peter, Charles, Samuel, Stephen and Joseph.
