Kaj Swenson, 89, of Bethlehem, died Nov. 7, 2013, in his home. He was the husband of Betty I. ( Newhard) Swenson for 60 years.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Edgar and Hjordis (Jacobsen) Swenson.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was an electrical engineer and designer for many years before retiring.
He was a charter member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.
He was a founder and long time president of the Northwest Little League in Bethlehem. He was a founder of The Thorn Association (USS Thorn DD647).
He is survived by two sons, Lennart of Northampton and Rost of Philadelphia; two daughters, Randi and her husband Eugene Peters of Shoemakersville and Lisa Stephon of Hillsboro, Ore.; a sister, Great Malings of Levittown, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Nathan, Casey, Heidi, Kevin and Scott; and two great-granddaughters, Taylor and Aubrey.
