A Bethlehem area radio staple has a new location with the recent move of Sunny 1100 WGPA from the Dodson Building located on North New Street into a building that formerly housed law offices at 429 East Broad St. Owned by polka impresario "Jolly" Joe Timmer, the station was forced to move after 25 years at its old location when the property was sold. Timmer said the new location, across from the Bethlehem YMCA, was a good move because of price, location and the fact the operation is all on one floor. The new location also has ample parking. "I thought it was ideal," he said.

The new facility has three studios, a production room and control room according to Timmer, who after some health issues earlier in the year seems re-energized by the new opportunity.

Timmer also said that with a new roof installed, an emergency generator shed constructed and completely new studios and technology added, Sunny 1100 is ready to continue providing the kind of programming that listeners have come to expect. Music, talk shows and broadcasting local high school sports will continue as staples of WGPA's programming, said Timmer, who also plans to start rebroadcasting his own polka-based show.

Timmer hopes to have an anniversary party before the end of the year, to celebrate his twenty-five years of station ownership.
