Clyde F. Myers

Clyde F. Myers of Macungie, 92, died Oct. 20, 2013. He was the husband of Catherine (Ranek) Myers. Born in Hanover, he was the son of the late Alta (Fuhrman) and Mervin Myers.

He graduated from Hanover High School and Williamson Trade School in 1942 and Lehigh University in 1950. He was an active member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.

He served as a Naval aviator during World War II and was assigned with his squadron to the F.D.R. Carrier. He continued flying in the Navy Reserve at Willow Grove until his retirement and was a member of M.O.O.A.

He was an engineering representative of electrical and mechanical products for General Time of Conn., Superior Electric of Mass and Crouset Controls of France, serving the U.S. from the east to west coasts then residing and retiring in California for 31 years.

He was a Mason at Lehigh Valley Lodge #320. He volunteered at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Lehigh Valley Airport, and First Presbyterian Church of Allentown. His favorite pastimes were reading, golf, skiing, photography, and foreign travel.

He is survived by his wife; sister, Janet Deardorff, of Rockville, Md.; nieces; nephews.
