On Oct. 14, the Greenawalds Fire Company, South WhitehallTownship, was awarded a $3,000 Bucket Brigade grant from Fireman's Fund Insurance for the purchase of new hose nozzles.

Members of the fire company were presented a check from Fireman's Fund Insurance Representative Tammy Mast in a small ceremony at the fire station.

The fire company originally requested $6,700 to replace its aging nozzles, which no longer met National Fire Protection Standards.

The fire company combined its own money with the grant to change out the nozzles.

The new nozzles will help firefighters delivery more water in a shorter period of time and suppress fires more quickly.
