Catherine D. Mayer, 91, of Coplay, died Nov. 1, 2013, at home. She was the wife of the late Julius Monk Mayer Jr.
Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late John and Katharine (Matits) Orban.
Until 1945, she was an assembler for Mack Trucks of Allentown and, subsequently, a sales clerk for Hess's, Zollinger's and H. Leh & Co. department stores until retiring in 1992.
She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Coplay.
She was a member of the Coplay Saengerbund . She also was a member of St. Peter and Paul Society and the Young at Heart Group, both of Northampton.
She is survived by two sons, Gregory E. of Port Neches, Texas, and Glenn J. and his wife Debbie of Lehighton; a brother, George Orban; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by five siblings, John, Matthew, Jospeh, Mary and Anna.
A viewing is scheduled for 8:30-9:30 a.m. Nov. 9 at the funeral home, 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, 18037, followed by services at 9:30 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., both in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay.
Contributions may be made to the church or to the Coplay Public Library, both c/o the funeral home.
