Robert P. Kuder

Robert P. Kuder, 82, of Neffs, died Oct. 25, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, South Whitehall.

He and his wife Melba M. (Schneck) Kuder celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on April 7.

Born Aug. 12, 1931, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Clayton and Erma (Heimbach) Kuder.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era.

A graduate of Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education and Lehigh University with a Master's degree in education and administration, he was an elementary school teacher with the Parkland School District for 19 years and an elementary school principal for 19 years before retiring in 1993.

While attending college, he worked in the men's department at Sears, Whitehall.

Active in the life of his church, school district and community, he was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, where he formerly served on the council, a life member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, the Lehigh County Association of School Retirees, the Korean Army Security Agency and the Copeechan Fish and Game Club.

He was a member and former officer of the Trojan Alumni Varsity Club, a former member of Cub Scout Leader, Troop 57, Neffs, the Upper Lehigh Lions Club and the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary Principals.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Richard S. and Eric C. and his companion, Elsa, both of Neffs, Robert P. II and his wife, Dawn, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; grandsons David E. and Anthony P.

He was predeceased by sisters, Leona M. Beck and Bernadine D. Burian.
