To update small business owners and entrepreneurs who live or work in the 187th District about legislation impacting their operations and to hear their concerns about state government, state Rep. Gary Day, R-187th, will give a small business legislative update 10 a.m. Nov. 7, at the Fogelsville Fire Company, 7850 Lime St., Fogelsville.
"Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, and as we continue to help strengthen our economy, it is important for us as policymakers to ensure that we don't place undue burdens on our job creators," Day said. "That is why I want to update local business owners on recent laws designed to help them, and I want to hear from them firsthand on the struggles they face with state government on a daily basis."
Kevin Shivers, executive state director of the Pennsylvania chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business, will speak about the challenges facing small business, including the need for sensible regulations and the opportunity to allow small business to grow.
The Affordable Care Act, known as ObamaCare, will also be addressed.
"I encourage anyone involved in a small business, either as an owner, manager or employee, to stop by to hear more about the policies impacting them," Day said.
Those wanting to attend should register by calling 610-760-7082 or emailing tccreighton@ pahousegop.com by Nov. 4.
