Mark your calendar for the Laurel Fire Company's annual meat raffle 2-6 p.m. Nov. 10.

The organizers will be giving away 20 turkeys, with additional raffles throughout the day. The purchase of a ticket includes refreshments and one meal. For ticket cost or other information, call Jake at 610-657-7986 or the bar at 610-262-2077.

The fire company would like to thank the volunteers, sponsors, vendors and bands who helped make the sixth annual block party in August a success.

The fair board is gearing up for the 2014 cement belt fair as well. Stay tuned for more information.

Egypt Community Church invites the public to enjoy a performance by the musical group "The Dogs of Falkner Swamp" Sunday, Nov. 3, at the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

With their old-time spiritual and gospel tunes, and a hint of humor, "the Dogs" are always a crowd pleaser. A freewill offering will be taken.
