Stephen Scrip

Stephen Scrip, 77, of Alburtis, died Oct. 18, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Dolores J. (Hess) Scrip, who died Feb. 8, 2006. Born in New York City, N.Y., he was a son of the late Anna Lantz.

He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Huff's Union Church, Alburtis.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War.

He attended Boyertown High School.

He was employed as a laborer by Cabot Corporation, Boyertown, for 38 years, retiring in 2002.

He was a member of Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton, and Pikeville Sportsman's Association.

He was an avid New York Yankees fan.

He enjoyed rose gardening, home landscaping, traveling, morning walks with Butch and Dutch and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan M. and her husband Charles C. Kayhart, of Alburtis; son, Stephen M., of Alburtis; sister, Carol Andrukatis, of Boyertown; brother, Nicholas, of Lancaster; uncle, John, of Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandsons, Jason M., Erik S. Kayhart, Bryce M. Kayhart; his dog, Barnabus. He was predeceased by sisters, Janice Tarowski and Annette Lantz; brother, Frederick Lantz.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Oct. 23, Huff's Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis. Friends may call 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 23 in the church. Arrangements were made by the Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., Topton.
