Ruth Warmkessel
Ruth W. Warmkessel, 93, formerly of Wescos-ville, died Oct. 19, 2013, at the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Ray M. Warmkessel, who died in 2005. Born in Lower Macungie Township, she was a daughter of the late Howard E. and Anna (Walbert) Raedler.
She was a graduate of Emaus High School and Kutztown State Teachers College in 1942. She taught elementary school in the East Penn School District for 40 years.
She was a life member of Solomon's United Church of Christ, Macungie, where she served on church council, worship committee, as teacher and pianist of the primary department of the Sunday School. She also was pianist for the adult Sunday School class, sang on the choirs for 75 years, and was active in the Women's Guild and Auxiliary.
She joined the Macungie Grange in 1932 and was a member of the Lehigh and Northampton Pomona Grange, the PA State Grange and the National Grange. She served as pianist for Macungie and Pomona Granges.
She was a member of Lower Lehigh Chapter No. 4150 of AARP, and was a charter member of Macungie Women's Club and the Macungie Historical Society. She was a former member of Lehigh County Meals on Wheels and of the Macungie Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed the first performances of the Macungie Minstrelaires.
She is survived by a sister, Margaret and her husband Robert Beidleman, of Macungie; brother, David Raedler and his wife Donna, of Red Hill; nieces, Susan Beidleman, of Macungie, Lori Sporkin, of Radford, Va., Ellen Guyton, of Tony, Ala. and Melissa Biehn, of Barto; nephew Michael Raedler, of Perkiomenville.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Oct. 24 in Solomon's Church, 82 Church St., Macungie. A calling hour will begin 10 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the Schmoyer Funeral Home, Breinigsville.
