Leon L. Meitzler, 62, of Alburtis, died suddenly Oct. 19, 2013. Born in Weisenberg Township, he was the son of the late George F. and Margaret A. (Geist) Meitzler.
He was a professional truck driver currently employed by Wolf Distribution, Allentown. Previously he worked for Packaging Corporation of America, Trexlertown, for over 30 years.
He was a combat engineer serving in Vietnam during the conflict from 1970 to 1972.
He was a life member and trustee of the Robert M. Fegely V.F. W. Post 8282, Breinigsville.
He was an antique tractor enthusiast and member of the Old Time Plow Boys, Kutztown.
He was a dedicated volunteer at numerous local volunteer fire company social functions for many years.
He attended Northwestern Lehigh High School and loved the outdoors.
He is survived by daughters, Denise M. and her husband Chris Belnoski, of Orefield, Bonnie S. and her husband James Reppert, of Macungie and Lucinda L. and her husband Steven Miller, of Blandon; brother, Kermit Derr, of Alburtis; sister, Ferne Arnold, of Topton; grandchildren, Randy, Dean and Sami; best friend, Jan Wentz, of Germansville. He was recently predeceased by a brother, Carl; and sister, Mary Lou Zettlemoyer.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Oct. 23 in the Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8923 Brookdale Road, Breinigsville. Call 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 23 in the funeral home.
