April Moyer from New Tripoli, a 2012 Northwestern Lehigh High School graduate, was named to the spring dean's list at Stevenson University.

Students who earn the dean's list honor must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a grade point average of a 3.50 or better.

Moyer, a visual communication design major helped organize the Stevenson University's 2013 Relay for Life.

This 12-hour overnight event, symbolizing a night in the life of someone fighting cancer, a disease that never sleeps.

The event began 7 p.m. April 19 and continued until 7 a.m. the next day in the Owings Mills Gym.

The committee began planning the details of this huge event during the fall semester and has held frequent meetings to ensure every detail was covered.

The committee members assisted with everything from marketing, recruitment, registration, to planning the luminaria ceremony and survivors dinner.

More than 500 Stevenson University community members participated in this year's Relay and $38,405 was raised to support the American Cancer Society.
