Allentown Public Library, 1210 Hamilton St., Allentown, will be hosting Emmy nominated singer and songwriter ellen cherry 7-8 p.m. on Oct. 22 in the community room.

No tickets are required and admission is free.

The library also will be offering a once-a-month knitting club 2:30-4:30 p.m. Oct. 19.

Knitters with a lifetime of knitting and needlework experience can teach others a stitch or two.

In return, newer knitters can teach others some contemporary patterns and cutting-edge techniques.

Other needlework crafts would be welcome.
