Sylvia B. Nicklas, 72, of Whitehall and formerly of Catasauqua and Las Vegas, died Sept. 28, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Robert "Nick" G. Nicklas.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Edward H. and Mildred S. (Brown) Rutman.

She and her husband owned the former Nick's Bar along Front and Race streets, Catasauqua, from 1966 to 1971. She also was a secretary for the Fuller Company and Reichenbach Oil Company, Allentown.

She was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Annunciation B.V.M.

She was a member of and secretary for the Southwark Fire Co. No. 9, Catasauqua.

She is survived by a brother, Tom and his wife Cathy Rutman of Catasauqua; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Ronald.

A calling hour is scheduled for 10-11 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. Mass Oct. 4 at the church, 122 Union St., Catasauqua.
