Richard E. Jones
Richard E. Jones, 90, a longtime resident of Fullerton and a guest at Sacred Heart Senior Living Saucon Valley, died Sept. 19, 2013, in Cedarbrook Fountain Hill Annex. He was the husband of Anna Ann (Miller) Jones for 54 years.
Born in Fullerton, he was a son of the late Richard E. and Stella (Dresher) Jones.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and attained the rank of technical sergeant with the 13th Armored Division, 3rd Army, while serving in Germany.
He was a 1934 graduate of Whitehall High School and the Allentown Business College.
He was an accountant at the former Harold Stephens Company for many years until retiring.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Fullerton. He was a member of the former Ferndale Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon and sang with the choir.
He was a life member of Fullerton American Legion Post 367.
He is survived by a daughter, Deborah A. (McCormick) and her husband Joseph Orach of Coopersburg; two sons, David E. and his wife Debra (Steigerwalt) of Hollywood, Md., and Glenn S. and his wife Jodi (Helriegel) of Allentown; six grandchildren, Heather, Christopher, Eric, Jason, Steven and Craig; and three great-grandchildren Trevin, Riley and Samuel.
He was predeceased by a brother, Owen D. Jones.
There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a services at 11 a.m., both Sept. 26 in the Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall.
