A number of road construction projects in Whitehall Township for 2013 will soon be completed.

Streets across the township, from Egypt to Fullerton, have been repaved or have undergone extensive reconstruction.

Mayor Edward D. Hozza Jr. last Monday presented to the board of commissioners a list of street improvement projects that have been completed with funding from state liquid fuels financing.

Street projects include Fairview Street, from Fifth to Second streets, Cementon; Spring Mill Road, from Spruce Street to Route 145, Egypt; Grandview Drive and Circle, Hokendauqua; Carbon Street, from Sodl Lane to Parkview Drive, Hokendauqua; Overlook Road, from 13th Street past 14th Street, Fullerton West; and Peach Tree Circle, the entire length (Schadt West).

Also, Lincoln Avenue and Miller Street to Bridge Street, West Catasauqua, is funded by the state liquid fuel tax and a state reimbursement from gasoline taxes.

Funding from the Community Development Block Grant, administered by Lehigh County, a pass-through state and federal grant, has provided funding for projects to Fourth to Calvert streets to end of road, Fullerton; Calvert Street intersection at Fourth Street, Fullerton; and Pennsylvania Street, from Virginia to Fifth Street and the ADA ramps, Fullerton.

Completed with township funding was the Schadt Avenue/Zephyr Park parking lot.

The township reported the basketball courts are in need of a top layer.
